Tai Chi Self Defense & Qigong Self Care

What is Qi Defense? Feeling secure in one’s own space with the willingness to stand one’s ground or leave. Qi Defense is also feeling and exuding confidence, calm and centeredness that are grounded in an awareness of one’s surroundings and a strong sense of self.  

In this 8 week Qi Defense course designed for women we will learn to transform trauma, stress and anxiety into resilience, peace and empowerment- the keys to standing in our own power. 

 During our 8 weeks together we will incorporate 13 Tai Chi postures as well as strategies from other martial arts to learn practical self-defense skills. Having a more sensitive perception of one’s environment along with a feeling of confidence, security and peace is one of the best ways to set the preconditions for safety. Often (physical) confrontations will not even come to pass as a result of a centered and peaceful aura.

We will also learn self care practices following the five elements and the 10 phases of Qi cultivation as they apply to different aspects of being a human in today’s world. These include exercise, Self Mastery, Relationships, Finances, Work, Play, Health Care, Environment, Life Purpose, Self-Esteem, Spirituality, and Nourishment.
